update: Minutes from the AGM and members’ meeting are available below.
Frome Area Green Party Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 1st October at 7pm. Members should have received notification of the venue by email (please contact us if you haven’t received this). This will be followed immediately by an open meeting to plan our activities for the coming year, with drinks afterwards.
During the meeting we will:
- Receive reports from the current officers and ask any questions
- Elect Officers for the coming year, including the statutory roles of:
Co-ordinator – This role involves actively facilitating the development and implementation of strategies to increase electoral support for the Green Party in the Frome Area. It includes co-ordinating the activities of the Steering Group and communicating these activities to Frome Area Green Party members and supporters with the aim of increasing their engagement and involvement. Also to reply to public queries in consultation with the Steering Group and elected Councillors as appropriate. This role takes about 8-10 hrs per month.
Treasurer – This role involves managing the local party finances, including the bank account, administrating all party spending and overseeing any deposits made into the bank account and completing a quarterly return. This role takes about 1-2 hours a month.
Election Agent/Nominating Officer – this role involves working to get more Greens elected across the Frome/Central & East Mendip area, at every level of government and working with the rest of the steering group to ensure all legal and financial requirements are complied with during the election campaign.
We will also be looking to fill non statutory officer posts, either at the AGM or at a subsequent members meeting, including:
Secretary
Membership Officer
Press Officer
Events Officer
Newsletter Editor
These are roles that ensure the smooth running of the party and are a great way to get involved. Please reply to this email if you would like to stand for one of the roles, or if you would like any more information about what any of the roles involve.
Members will receive an agenda for the AGM at least 7 days before the meeting.
